Most people tend to watch television, so choose a show that you like to watch in your current language and watch it in English instead. This will help you to expand your show-watching repertoire and learn more English.
Similar to television shows, people love to watch movies. This can be on TV, movie theaters, Netflix or some other subscription-based service. Watch these movies in your native language but turn on the subtitles. As you learn the movie by subtitles, you can watch the movies in English.
Singing is one denominator of any language. The tune of a song will help you to learn the words. When you listen to the words in English, you can sing along with them the next time you hear them. Songs can be heard on YouTube, radio, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, etc.
With Spotify and Amazon, you can choose from a plethora of songs and make a playlist. They also have their own playlists based on things you’ve previously listened to. With YouTube, you can create a list to random play as you do other things around the house, computer, laptop, tablet, etc.
Radio is more than just songs. If you use SiriusXM and another similar service, you can turn to its comedy shows, news stations or even NFL channels to learn English. There are hundreds of channels to choose from, and that doesn’t even take the AM/FM stations into consideration.
Another way to learn the English language is to play board games such as Scrabble, Rummikub, Alphabet Bingo, Apples to Apples, UpWords, Boggle, Scattergories, etc. You can play them with a native speaker or with a learner such as yourself. Use a dictionary and have your notebook on hand to write down words you don’t know (for future references and learning).
Use your smartphone to download apps that let you learn English words. Such apps can include Babbel, Duolingo, Scrabble, Word Search, Tandem, etc. Many of these game apps are free and do wonders in increasing your English vocabulary.
Go ahead and record yourself talking in English, then play it back. Make a note in your notebook of the mistakes you made and learn from them. When you record yourself, see what improvements you have made (if any).

It cannot be said enough that practice makes perfect. If you’re going to master the English language, you must practice, at minimum, two times a week. You can do this by talking to a native speaker or by learning it with other English learners. You can also learn on your own, but practice and practice often.
