Spoken English Practice Celebrates 8 Years
Today marks the 8 year anniversary of Spoken English Practice. Congratulations to all our wonderful staff over the years and a special thanks to all our customers who have made us feel loved and valued in our journey. Words can’t express how grateful we are.
Our Vision
When we launched Spoken English Practice on March 20th, 2008, we started with a very specific vision. Our vision was to transform the way Spoken English is “taught”. Most traditional English Language Schools teach English the wrong way. They focus on teaching Grammar and Vocabulary through memorization and then expect students to be able to speak English fluently. A lot of classroom time is dedicated to learning grammar rules and memorizing word lists, but NOT practicing speaking. Also, students are asked to memorize role plays and sample dialogues which is a complete waste of time. Most traditional English tutors undermine a fundamental rule in language learning – you can only be very fluent in a English by practicing speaking with Native speakers.
FACT: Most Spoken English Courses don’t work
If you look at the ESL (English as a second language) industry, you will see that there are thousands of English Language training centers around the world that conduct intensive Spoken English courses or English tuition classes, filled with grammar, vocabulary, phonetic charts etc. Further, there are numerous other online only English language programs conducted via newsletters and software. However, speaking English fluently is still one of the most difficult skills to acquire for most non-native speakers. We identified that a paradigm shift was needed in the way English is “taught” as second language.
Our Teaching Philosophy
Spoken English Practice’s teaching methodology is based on one fundamental principle – The ONLY way to really be fluent in English is by practicing speaking with native speakers. Our classes are designed to allow English learners free themselves from grammar rules and vocabulary memorization and learn English the same way they did learning their first language.
So if you want to be fluent in English in 2016 it is still not too late! Sign up for a trial Spoken English lesson below and learn how to improve English naturally and effortlessly.
So what are our top tips to English language students:
1.) Always practice speaking with a Native English Teacher – You HAVE to learn the correct accent and pronunciation from the start. A Native English Speaker is the best way to do this.
2.) Cheap English tuition is NOT good – Like with most other things, don’t pick a cheap English tutor.Cheap English tuition usually wastes your time and will not help you improve. Pick a reputable English school.
3.) Practice English speaking regularly – You can’t be fluent in English by just listening and taking notes in class! You have to practice speaking.
Our website, www.SpokenEnglishPractice.com is currently one of the most popular web platforms for ESL students to find Native English Teachers to practice with. Also our blog that has attracted over a million page views over the last 12 months, is considered one of the top resources to learn English. Our growing student population currently has students from over 160 countries.
Thank you for all your support. Cheers!
