Meet Conversational English Tutor Christina

Tell us about your experience working as a Conversational English Tutor

I have been teaching English for 8 years in Italy, France and Germany as a Conversational English tutor. I have worked with multiple English Language Schools,d with students ranging from young adults to professionals.  I also have experience working as an online English Conversation tutor to students from all over the world.

How do you structure Conversational English lessons at Spoken English Practice?

As a Conversational English tutor, it is important to understand that each student is unique. Each student has a different area that they struggle with and need extra help. I have aided students in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation. Since I have taught such a wide range of students, kindergarten to businessmen, it would depend on the student and the situation as to what approach I would take.

When participating in conversation English classes, I like to begin by asking the students what they would like to work on and what areas they feel they would like to strengthen. As it is their lesson, we would begin by focusing on that area. Through our time together, I would also be able to discover other areas that students should spend time on and I would find ways to weave them into our lessons.

I also have extensive experience helping student prepare to exams like GRE, TOEFL and IELTS, so if you need any help with those, let me know in advance.

What are some tip you would like to share with students learning English?

My job as an Conversational English tutor is to maximize opportunities for my students to speak in English. I think that students need to gain confidence in speaking English first and foremost. With regular practice, gentle correction and guidance, their grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation will all improve.

Spoken English Practice provides one of the best ways of achieving that as it provides a safe environment where a student can practice their English without fear of making mistakes and being socially embarrassed. In this private way they can improve their English skills and most importantly their confidence in speaking English fluently. They can then take these lessons into the world.
